I’m certain from my own experience that our brains are designed to store traumatic memories away from consciousness. If we are lucky enough to regain access, perhaps through psychodrama or other therapeutic art forms, we can build a rational place for it, access it safely without the danger of damage to higher brain functioning. My performance art has always served, albeit unconscious early on, to educate me accordingly. I must thank you, Valerie Simon, for your workshops, because I believe your approach is on target, invaluable on many levels…not just for actors but all seekers, in the lights or in the wings, of their Inner Stage.
