Rebecca Shubert, LCSW holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Education Studies from Vassar College and a Master of Social Work (MSW) from New York University. Their areas of focus include trauma, anxiety, depression, multicultural and identity issues, non-traditional relationship structures, and LGBTQ issues (with particular focus on transgender and gender non-conforming populations).
Their approach is eclectic and tailored to each client’s needs. They view therapy as a way to collaborate with clients to facilitate growth and healing, and believe that cultivating a strong working relationship is essential to good therapy. To learn more about Rebecca, read their blog post here.
Rebecca completed a two-year certificate in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at the Psychoanalytic Institute at New York Counseling and Guidance Services. They have training in experiential methods of psychodrama and Internal Family Systems and utilize both modalities in their work. Rebecca has completed Anti-Racism Training through the Diversity and Resiliency Institute. Rebecca uses she/her or they/them pronouns.
